Discover the changing sounds of the sea in a free art installation in Greenwich Foot Tunnel
As part of the National Maritime Museum’s Our Ocean, Our Planet season, artists Emma Critchley and Lee Berwick have created The Space Below, an immersive walkthrough experience in Greenwich Foot Tunnel.
Bringing together sounds from marine animals recorded in oceans around the world, along with human-made sounds, it is their response to the little known issue of underwater sound pollution and how this affects the ability of sea animals to communicate, breed, feed and survive.
The Space Below gives audiences a chance to listen to a rich and fascinating collection of underwater sounds recorded by scientists in oceans around the world.
The installation is open to the public from 7–15 March 2020, 11am–7pm.
